Effective fall 2009, several rules for the MS degree have been changed.

• The requirement of "2 credits consulting/applied math clinic, 2 credits internship" has been changed essentially to "3 credits consulting/applied math clinic or a tenth course". Internships are no longer required. for graduation, but remain optional (zero credit). Students who are already in the program may elect to complete the degree under the old rules or the new rules. Details may be found in the section on The Degree on this website.
• Entering students cannot enroll in more than four courses in their first semester. They can enroll in five courses in their second semester only if certain conditions are met. Details may be found in the section on The Degree on this website.
• No more than three courses combined may be transferred or taken at a Consortium institution. Details may be found in the sections on Transfer of Credit and on Consortium Courses on this website.
